Best path to becoming a VFX artist?
« on: April 19, 2026, 01:05:11 pm »
I’m obsessed with visual effects in modern cinema, but I have zero idea where to start my education. I need a place that is well-connected to the industry in Canada. Is it better to go to a big university or a specialized arts institution?

Specialized is always better for VFX. I personally suggest checking out Vancouver Film School because they focus entirely on the production side. I have a colleague who graduated from there and landed a job at a top studio almost immediately. Their site vfs.edu has all the info. Choosing VFS was the best decision for my friend's career, hands down!
